Strategy consultant project manager

We are looking for experienced consulting project managers to join Material Economics. Our work goes to the heart of our clients’ business, targeting core business strategy issues arising from the ongoing sustainability disruption. We combine top-tier management consulting skills with deep expertise in energy systems, low-carbon technology, raw materials and natural resources, transportation systems, and the circular economy.

You bring 3-5 years’ experience at a leading management consultancy and/or in a strategy role in industry, finance or the public sector, and enjoy managing teams of 2-4 consultants on complex, strategic assignments. You understand the dynamics of working in a small and rapidly growing company, and want to get involved in building the business, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit.

Material Economics is 11 people and growing fast. Our recent work spans institutional investors, banks, property developers, manufacturing companies, and energy and basic materials companies. We offer the opportunity to join a high calibre and fun team, working on some of the most relevant issues of the day.

The profile we are looking for
  • 3-5 years of consulting experience in a high calibre environment, ideally working with energy, manufacturing, industry, or financial sector clients
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to match the complex issues that we take on, and a drive to build deep expertise in our core areas of work
  • A convincing facility for building relationships, including at senior levels
  • People development skills and a coaching approach to management
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit, ready to take a leadership role in developing new opportunities
  • Master or equivalent degree, likely in business, engineering, or economics
  • A deep interest in our area of work
